The cargo ship called the Spirit of Rachel Corrie (officially known as Finch) has 7.5 miles of PVC pipe (plastic) to help restore devastated sewage system in Gaza. The ship is named after the brave American activist crushed to death by an Israeli bulldozer in 2003 while trying to prevent the demolition of a Palestinian home. He died at age 23.
The Spirit of Rachel Corrie mission is part of the "Breaking the Gaza blockade" of the Perdana Global Peace Foundation (PGPF). The objective of this campaign is to show the effects of illegal blockade imposed by Israel and raise awareness of human rights violation in the population of Gaza.
