ON THE DAY of the Palestinian Nakba
Today May 15, 2011, are carried out worldwide events similar to this in remembrance, sad commemoration "of the Nakba: the catastrophe of the Palestinian people. In 1948, Zionist forces expelled 750,000 Palestinian civilians from their homes according to a detailed plan of ethnic cleansing. Was beginning a history of occupation, dispossession, subjugation of an entire people coming up today. The situation of the Palestinian people is dramatic. Continues the brutal military occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem, an illegal and criminal has turned Gaza into the biggest prison in the world, a million and half Palestinians living in Israel is subject to a state of Apartheid, nearly six million barely survive in overcrowded refugee camps without Israel allowed the return to which they are entitled by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Geneva Convention and numerous United Nations resolutions. In recent months
witnessing the rise of the Arab peoples against their dictators. However, the Palestinian people suffered for more than six decades one of the most atrocious and cruel dictatorships imaginable: the dictatorship of Israel. That is why we gather here this morning, at the Embassy of Israel. To make it clear that we will not cease in our denunciation of crimes against the Palestinian people.
We also recall that in the third week of June will start the Second Fleet of Liberty with the aim of breaking and ending the blockade of the Gaza Strip. In the Flotilla will be a English ship of state with a large group of activists and a cargo of humanitarian aid. That ship has been possible thanks to the Road to Gaza campaign, an initiative that has gained a vast popular support in all areas of the state.
From here, at the Embassy, \u200b\u200bwe denounce the blackmail and intimidation, if not the overt threats that Israel is implementing to prevent split the Flotilla. Everyone remembers what happened last year with the first Freedom Flotilla. Israel's army approached the boat in international waters, killing nine of the activists. We therefore ask the English government to not give in to this blackmail and fulfill its legal obligation to protect the safety of the participants in this expedition.
By the end of military occupation.
By the end of Apartheid.
for the return of refugees.
By the end of the blockade on Gaza.
live the struggle of the Palestinian people!
